01

Select a café you can find easily

A staffed public café with suitable seating, manageable noise and a recognisable entrance is a practical first choice. Suggest the actual venue, not just an area of Mumbai. Consider access needs and the time available around your other commitments. Each person should be able to arrive and leave independently.

02

Bring curiosity, not a script

A book, film, food preference or observation about the city can open a conversation without becoming an interview. Listen to the answer and allow a pause. No one has to disclose personal history or maintain a polished persona to make a short outing enjoyable. Coffee company is for shared conversation rather than counselling or professional advice.

03

Agree the small practical details

Confirm the companion’s identity, the meeting time, the finish and the fee before the day. Discuss café orders separately if they are not included. A first meeting does not imply another destination or a future booking. If both people want to plan another public outing, that can be a fresh conversation.
